I'm Terrible
I think I am a terrible mother! Yes, I admit it. It is 12:37 , am making lunch and watching TV. I am having the most enjoyable day. Oh! Did I mention the kids are in camp!
It's so nice a quiet. Nobody is fighting over my computer. I can actually use it without asking permission! Actually, nobody is fighting. It's so peaceful and calm. Can you hear the peacefulness?
Oh, yeah, back to my terribleness (is that even a word?). I love my kids, I enjoy being with my kids, but I love having time away from them. I know so many women, who want to spend all their time with their kids and I feel guilty that I don't.
Well, my lunch is ready, so I am off for a little more solitude until I need to pick up the kids.
So, what do you think....do you crave time away or do you pine for your kids if they're out of your site longer than 5 minutes?

Well, I've probably met one mother in my life who couldn't be without her children. The other 1000 women were like you and me: we love our children but it is nice without them. Those little reminders of our life like it was when it was still o u r life... beautiful. Anyway, why do most of the camps end in the middle of August? How are we supposed to spend the time until school starts?!

I love my kids, but I MUST have my alone time!!! You are SO not terrible!!
In the summertime, my kids fuss a lot, and it makes me absolutely crazy...I'm always glad when they go back to school, but guilty for feeling that way ;)!
AMEN to all of the above!!! Yes we are mothers but we are also individuals...I love my child but I also love my alone time, or time away...I think it makes us better mothers..the very FEW mothers I know who are glued to their children will be glued to them as adults..I have seen it. That's sad. Our jobs is also to make individuals out of our children. Teach them independance. We will still have lives after they are moved away and living their own lives. Well, atleast us (terrible moms) lol...who can enjoy our OWN time without them lol.
I was a SAHM, and I craved time away like nobody's business! You and Carmi are great parents. Please don't ever feel guilty for wanting time to yourself.
Hi, I think we all need and want time for us - to reaffirm ourselves as individuals who are parents, not just parents.. doesn't mean we love them less or are bad parents..
hope you don't mind if I bookmark you for future...katie
I love my son to the depths of my soul. But there are days when I want nothing more than to be alone. I think it's only normal to need time to yourself.
I love my alone time during the school year, when both are in school. Then in summer, I'm happy to have more time with them, but insist that I get time to myself in my rom for a few hours in the afternoon while they play. If they don't let me, I get desperately grumpy.
Don't feel guilty. Being a mom is hard work, trust me I know, when you get time alone it is well deserved!
People laugh when I say, my idea of a vacation is being at home alone for a whole day. Never happens, though...dang, I sure would like a vacation!
Like everyone else, I love my kids too... but I think I'd go insane if I didn't get some ME time. Heck, I get giddy when I get to go to the store by myself! LOL
I think every mom needs some me time... there's nothing terrible about it. In fact, I'm craving some now. LOL
We have kids? Where?
:)
Popped by from Michele's, because staring at your lovely face from across the living room isn't enough for me.
Love you, sweets.
The kids are in school right now and I'm home alone. Ah, Bliss. They will be home soon enough. I'm guessing you spend quite a bit of time with them. I find that time more enjoyable when I have bits of time alone.
