Adventures of Motherhood

I am a harried mother of three kids who move at light speed and a husband who lives in a world of words. If that isn't enough, I teach in an elementary school as I slowly watch my hair turn gray.

He is so sweet!

Noah is my sweet little boy. Just don't let him hear me call him little.
"I'm a big boy Mommy!"
I just can't admit that he is going to be 5 in just a few months. I guess I want to keep him a baby as long as I can.

He has discovered Zach's game boy. I thought he was just pushing the buttons, but I really watched him play. He knows exactly what he is doing and he does it rather well. Even Zach admitted that he is pretty good. The problem is that it's Zach's game boy and he doesn't want to have to give it up.

Noah wants a game boy for his birthday. He even outlined which games I should buy for him. I don't think I was this organized at almost 5 years old.

Sorry, I digressed. I wanted to tell you about my sweet Noah. All my kids are sweet! Especially when they are sleeping. (I never understood this comment that my mother often said when I was younger, that is until I had children of my own!)

But Noah does something that is so sweet that it always pulls at my heart strings. Every night when I tuck Noah into bed, I go through my usual routine. I love you, I need a hug, a kiss, another hug, another kiss and I keep repeating with lots of little giggles. When it's a final "Okay, time for bed" I always say I love you, give one more hug and kiss and say "Sleep well Lovebug, see you in the morning."

Noah always replies, "I love you, too, you sleep well too." giggles a little more and then drifts off to sleep.

Noah always finds little ways to make me feel special and loved. I always tell him he gives the best Noah hugs.

That sweetness has to come from somewhere...and it sure didn't start with me! I'm too grouchy. He's just like you.

I'll miss when he's too big to carry. I almost feel as if I'm wearing him when he curls into my shoulder.

I had to laugh when you made the "they are cute when they are asleep" comment. My mother used to say that as well, and now I do. It's absolutely amazing that they could be driving you crazy all day, yet after they fall asleep you find yourself ooing and ahing over them, and thinking "they really weren't that bad." Great post!

The changes that they all go through, are incredible. They grow up so quick...I know this because mine are already 11 and 9. Where has the time went and who stole my sweet babies, while I wasn't looking???? LOL

Sounds like he is going to have a VERY clean house when he grows up! You think?

Anyhow...enjoying the blog...going to read more entries now!

Awww, isn't he a sweetheart! I just love those little expressions of love they give - sometimes at the most unexpected times. It makes everything else worth it.
