Adventures of Motherhood

I am a harried mother of three kids who move at light speed and a husband who lives in a world of words. If that isn't enough, I teach in an elementary school as I slowly watch my hair turn gray.

It's so blah here!

Well the weekend is here...and it's really blah. The weather is gloomy and that seems to be the mood in our house. I had all these plans for cleaning and laundry today...but just don't have the energy to do it, or fight with anybody in the house to do it with me.

So I am doing what any other person would do. I'm curling up with a good book (or trashy...whatever the case may be) and having a nice hot cup of tea. Anyone who really knows me knows that I am still feeling under the weather if I am opting for tea instead of coffee.

The house and the laundry can wait a little while longer.

Now it's your turn:
What do you do to cheer yourself up when you are feeling gloomy?

Michele sent me, MorahMommy.

Thanks for the compliment on my pictures. Carmi is a good standard to be measured by. He takes amazing pictures and now that he's got that new camera--look out, world!

Did you by any chance leave out the word "book" on your post today? Saying you're curling up with a good or trashy and then not saying anything else can really make the imagination wander! LOL

When I feel gloomy I try to lose myself in an activity like photography or reading a book. Watching tv or movies only seems to make things worse. Sometimes food prep is the best thing--so much depends on the mood and the weather.

Thanks utenzi...I did leave out the word book. It's amazing how many times you read something over and not even realize you left out a word.

Thanks to all of you for stopping by.

Thanks for the comment :)

If I'm feeling down I usually either put on a fave CD (there's certain bands/singers that will always put a smilee on my face) or a DVD starring a favourite actor (Kiefer Sutherland, Christian Slater, Ewan McGregor etc).

I hope the weekend brightens up for you. Take care.

If I'm feeling really gloomy I'll usually just get into bed and pull the covers over my head. Moderately gloomy and I'll go out for a walk or to the gym and put some great music on the iPod.

I lay in bed and watch a Dharma and Greg Marathon - or read a book.

If I am REALLY sick, I turn on National Geographic TV or the History channel - and fall asleep.

When I'm stuck with a day that's gray and lonely, I just stick out my chin, and grin, and say, The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow, so you gotta hang on till tomorrow. . .

Wait. That's what Annie does when she's gloomy. I watch football. Or a musical. Like Annie. And like you, I enjoy a hot beverage, usually herbal tea.

I usually go out for a walk, or go shopping, or something. I'm not the type that if I'm not feeling well I get comfy and relax. So if you see me at home in my jammies, and not feeling well, and just lazing on the couch... you know I'm VERY sick

Feel better soon.

Walk the dog, unless I can play hockey... I can no longer play guitar, since the kids are either sleeping or monkeying around with the tuning head.

Coffee drinker, eh? The only souvenir my dad ever brings my wife and I from Venezuela is several packages of coffee. Despite using the same brands and same stovetop apparatus as my grandmother I have yet to attain the same flavour.

I like to drink myself into oblivion.

Tea, I mean.

Want a mug? Tonight's a good night for one.
