Adventures of Motherhood

I am a harried mother of three kids who move at light speed and a husband who lives in a world of words. If that isn't enough, I teach in an elementary school as I slowly watch my hair turn gray.

Happy Belated Valentine's Day

Hi Y'all

I know it's been a while since my last post, but I just wanted to say hello and wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you had a great day and you were able to share it with the ones you love.

We had a special Valentine's day dinner. We picked up dinner and ate them on Valentine's plates and used Valentine's napkins. Carmi and I had some chocolates for the kids and a new pair of socks. Zach the die hard Maple Leafs fan (much to my father's chagrin; a die hard Montreal Canadians fan!) got Maple Leaf socks and the 2 younger ones got Madagascar socks.

Carmi, my sweety got a big box of chocolates (in a flavour the kids don't like, so he wouldn't have to share!) . We figured out that this was our 22nd Valentine's Day together. It just doesn't seem possible that we are together that long. It feels like I met him yesterday.

Carmi got me 3 new charms for my bracelet; a sapphire for my birthday stone, an "I love my kids" and one that says perfect. I was surprised to say the least. I asked why he got one that said perfect, as I am far from it! He told me if there was room he would have had them inscribe perfect to us. OOHHH! Tears to my eyes. Even after 22 years, what a romantic.

We had a really nice dinner all together and as I watched Carmi and our children smiling, eating and chattering away, my heart just overflowed with love. I know we don't need a special day to tell each other how much we love each other. We tell the kids that many times a day. But, it's a nice excuse to make a special time to grow together even more.

How did you spend your Valentine's day?

This is one of my favourite pictures of us from last summer. We were on our way home from a visit to see our parents in Montreal.
