Adventures of Motherhood

I am a harried mother of three kids who move at light speed and a husband who lives in a world of words. If that isn't enough, I teach in an elementary school as I slowly watch my hair turn gray.

My little man is 12!

I can hardly believe that my little man, Zachary Akiva turned 12 today. I become a mother this very day 12 years ago. Where has the time gone? How can he possibly be on the verge of adulthood?

My first thought is that I am not old enough to have a child this age. Of course my second thought is.... YES you are!!

Zach totally amazes me. He is funny and smart and caring. Okay, he's not perfect...he's a little self-centred but who isn't at this age. But he's quick to apologize when he knows he's done something wrong, and is still willing to hug and kiss his mother...even in public.

When I went downstairs to wake him this morning, I took a minute to watch him sleep. I was so amazed to see how big he's become. I remember when we brought him home from the hospital. He was so tiny in his crib. We didn't think he would ever fill up the crib.

Now 12 years later, his last before being a full-fledged teenager he has grown into this real little (or big) man.

I'm filled with awe and pride and I hope that this year and the years to come are always filled with good health and happiness.

Mommy loves you Zach!

It's Sunday

It's a grey Sunday here...but the mood is more uplifting. I think the cold is finally on it's way out and now I just have to get rid of my eye infection.

It was a really nice day. The kids all had activities this afternoon so Carmi and I got to go out for coffee and then explore our newly renovated Wal-Mart. I know Carmi hates the Wal-Mart philosophy but you sure can't beat the prices.

He laughs at me, but I have sunk to a new all time low. Imagine being excited that a new grocery store is open and walking around like a kid in the proverbial candy store. I can't help it, but things like that excite me.

I can now get my groceries and shmooze the rest of the store all at one time. The best part is they are open till 9 on Sundays. I know, sad, sad girl. I can here you saying it now! :-)

It was nice just to be able to do something just the 2 of us. We actually got to hold hands as we strolled in the store.

I hope what ever you did or will be doing today is enjoyable!

Enjoy the last bit of the weekend and look forward to a great week ahead!

It's so blah here!

Well the weekend is here...and it's really blah. The weather is gloomy and that seems to be the mood in our house. I had all these plans for cleaning and laundry today...but just don't have the energy to do it, or fight with anybody in the house to do it with me.

So I am doing what any other person would do. I'm curling up with a good book (or trashy...whatever the case may be) and having a nice hot cup of tea. Anyone who really knows me knows that I am still feeling under the weather if I am opting for tea instead of coffee.

The house and the laundry can wait a little while longer.

Now it's your turn:
What do you do to cheer yourself up when you are feeling gloomy?

I'm Glad It's the Weekend!

I am so glad it's the weekend. This cold is really getting me down. I was in bed and asleep by 9:30 last night.

There's a stew well stewing in the oven. I'm in my comfy sweats and I'm going to go read for a little while.

We have lots of company coming next week for Zach's 12th (yikes) birthday. We clean tomorrow, but I will rest and relax tonight.

Whatever you are doing this weekend have lots of fun and be safe.

What are your plans?

Feeling Under the Weather

I'm feeling under the weather....last week I had the bit of the flu and this week I am getting a head cold. It's only October!!! I fear that this will be a long Winter to come.

On another front...I am very happy to report that I have lost 36 pounds. Only 16 pounds till my goal. I have to admit that the last 6 pounds have been really tough...but I am sticking too it. I'll have to do some before and after pictures for you.

I'm off to pick up the kids and beginning our weekly 2 hour session of swimming lessons. At least there all on the same day.

Have a happy Wednesday!

Life is crazy, but I just wanted to say hi

Life is really crazy here, but I just wanted to stop and say hello.
School is very busy and the kids are driving (literally and figuratively) crazy with their schedules. I swear I spend more time driving them places than anything else!

Dahlia and I have recently each spent a few hours in emergency...me for a sprained ankle (I'll tell you about it another time) and Dahlia for falling and hitting her nose. We are both fine now.

We just finished celebrating Rosh Hashanah (Jewish new year) and Yom Kippur (day of Atonement) and are looking forward to coming long weekend.

I hope you're all doing well and that I will have a chance to sit down and write very soon!
