I'm so proud!
I'm so proud! Zachary had his Bar Mitzvah this weekend and he was absolutely amazing. All that crumbling about having to practice was all worth it because he did a great job. He was loud and clear, his voice didn't crack (thank god! :-)) and I think everyone had a great time.
We had a Shabbat dinner for all of our out of town guest and family at the home of our good friends Lori and Allan. Then we had a luncheon at the Shul after the service and then in the evening we had a party for friends and family at the Palasad. It wasn't your typical Bar Mitzvah party. It was bowling, arcade games, pool tables and food, food and more food. We also had a balloon lady who made balloon hats and swords and decorations for the kids and adults alike, as well as a cartoonist to draw their pictures. We had a brunch at the hotel before everyone went home yesterday. I'm very tired to day...but it is a good kind of tired!
Zach told me on a scale of 1 to 10 the weekend was an 11. You can't get better than that!
This weekend was just one of those moments that you store in your mind. Whenever you bring them out, they just make you feel warm and fuzzy. It's hard sometimes, you don't always know if your are doing the right things for your kids. Am I pushing them too hard, or not enough. They are growing up so fast (and some days it doesn't seem fast enough!), but it's so lovely when you get to see them shine. It was wonderful to share the moment with our family and friends. Now everyone gets to see what a great kid Zach is.
Now that the stress of the Bar Mitzvah is over, I will be off my blog writing diet and I hope to visit you all more often.
Have a great day!
